This study was conducted to determine the effect of several chemical treatments on prevention of scape deformation of cut gerberas. Scape diameter increased 1 week after 1,4-naphthoquinone (NQ) treatment, but there was no effect on other morphological characteristics and vase life. But neck bending rate decreased by increasing NQ application times. Neck bending rate decreased by NQ with IAA treatment with deformation rate of 83% 3 weeks and 50% 5 weeks after treatment, compared to control. Scape and neck diameter increased by NQ with ethephon treatment. Vasal life appeared to increase by the treatment, and deformation rate decreased to 20% one week after treatment. But flower diameter decreased by the treatment. By NQ with ethephon treatment, cavity was disappeared and the number of vascular bundle, especially small ones, increased. Cell wall of phloem was thickened by NQ with ethephon treatment.
